Lilliput Playschool is situated in the quiet surrounds of Umtentweni, a suburb bordering on Port Shepstone and caters for families as far afield as Hibberdene in the North to Margate in the South. Lilliput has been in business for over 20 years and during that time has been blessed with longstanding staff. Many former pupils have returned after completing their high school education to gain work experience in childcare and education.

The playschool remains open during the school holidays, excluding 4 weeks in December and public holidays. The playschool offers full day and half day rates with an optional meal. The meal includes: a full lunch and two snacks - one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The playschool has four classes which are divided according to age: toddler, 2-3 years old, 3-4 years old and 4-5 years old. An informal pre-school programme is set by the teachers, which includes: developmental play, perceptual training, language development, creative activities, music and plenty of free-play.
Presently there are three teachers, a childcare assistant and an aftercare supervisor. Extramural activities offered are swimming, pottery, Playball and Gymbo-Kids.
Our purpose is to provide a stimulating environment in which children can grow, play and learn together. We recognise that each child is a unique person, with his/her own personality and pattern of development. In a relaxed atmosphere, emphasis is placed on the individual child's natural growth and needs. It is our desire to broaden each child's mental emotional, social and physical development to make a smooth transition from the home to future life experiences.
During the course of the year we go on outings according to the theme of the week, dress-ups on Valentines Day, Spring Day and various other functions decided by the Committee, as well as Graduation and the School Party to end the year! Every day is Open Day for us!
